Ugaste seeks to rein in taxes, change dynamics of Springfield

Republican state House candidate Dan Ugaste sees a common thread connecting the voters of his district that reaffirms his decision to run for office.

“Everybody I talk to the first thing they say to me is that the taxes are too high and the services aren’t good enough,” Ugaste told the Kane County Reporter. “It’s also not lost on them that lawmakers in Springfield never seem to get around to doing any of the things they claim all the money they take from them is supposed to be intended for.”

Ugaste, running against Democrat Richard Johnson to replace retiring Rep. Steven Andersson (R-Geneva) in Illinois’ 65th District, insists his campaign is all about changing that dynamic.

“We really don’t have a choice if we’re ever going to get Illinois back in order,” he said. “The time has come for us to get our house in order and stop taxing people out of this state.”
