In Case You Missed It:
Illinois House Speaker and Democrat Party Chief Michael Madigan (D-Chicago) gave $133,996 to Elgin State House candidate Richard Johnson between July 15 and Aug. 15, state filings show.
The Madigan funding was disclosed in reports filed with the Illinois State Board of Elections (ISBE) by Johnson for Illinois, the campaign committee that supports Richard Johnson’s race against Republican Dan Ugaste in the 65th district.
The district covers all or part of Huntly, Elgin, South Elgin, St. Charles, Geneva, and Batavia.
Madigan’s contributions to Johnson came from the campaign funds he controls, including his own committee, Friends of Michael J. Madigan, the Illinois Democratic Party and the Democratic County Chairman’s Association of Illinois.
